Musician Gil Scott-Heron died on May 27, 2011. The legendary singer and poet, best known for his song 'The Revolution Will Not Be Televised,' died in New York. A cause of death has not been given, although The New York Times reports that Gil Scott-Heron died after falling ill after returning from a tour of Europe.
